LI.FI Integrates NEAR Intents for One-Step Cross-Chain Swaps

Damian

NEAR Intents is a multichain transaction protocol built on NEAR Protocol. Instead of users having to navigate complex bridging flows, manage gas across multiple networks, or initiate multi-step swaps manually, NEAR Intents lets users simply state what they want and receive an outcome through one of NEAR’s third-party solvers. This solver network competes to fulfill user requests most optimally, handling all the transaction construction logic and fulfilment.

NEAR Intents currently supports over 25 chains, including major EVM and non-EVM chains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Users can swap assets across any of these networks easily and within seconds.

What is an Intent?

An intent is a user’s expression of an inventory or state at time t and a desired future inventory or state at time t + 1. Instead of a user having to specify the exact logic of how to get from point A to B, the user expresses the outcome they want: "Swap 1 ETH on Ethereum for USDC on Solana." This intent is broadcast to a network of solvers, who compete to find the best path to fulfilling the user’s desired outcome. The winning quote is presented to the user for approval, and if accepted, a verifier smart contract settles the transaction securely. This model abstracts complexity away from users and onto solvers who are incentivized to deliver the best price.

What NEAR Intents Enable

  • Cross-chain intent coverage: By integrating NEAR Intents' solver network, LI.FI provides integrators with quicker access to routes and liquidity across NEAR Intents’ 25+ chains.

  • Competitive fulfilment through solvers: Due to the single-step nature of intents, customers gain access to more competitive quotes that cover both onchain and offchain liquidity sources, also underpinned by more reliable quoting.

  • Multichain experience made simpler: All multi-step complexity is eliminated. Without having to deal with wrapped assets, several bridging stages, or gas token management, users can access deep cross-chain liquidity.

  • Lower overhead for intents: Teams will have less work to do when NEAR Intents adds support for additional networks because those chains will immediately enable intent-based fulfilment via LI.FI.
