Introducing Quote Simulation on LI.FI: Better Quotes, Fewer Failures
TLDR: LI.FI now simulates every route against live onchain conditions before returning them, helping integration partners provide more reliable execution and reducing onchain transaction failures by more than 70%.
—————————————————————————————————————————
A great quote means nothing if the transaction fails.
Routing infrastructure has traditionally optimized for the amount a user receives. It searches across available liquidity sources and proposes the route offering the best price.
But the route with the best price on paper is not always the route that successfully executes onchain.
A quote may appear attractive while relying on stale pool conditions, insufficient liquidity, incompatible token behaviour, or another execution edge case that causes the transaction to revert.
When that happens, the user does not receive a better trade. They receive an error in the form of a failed transaction, which is arguably not an ideal user experience.
Today, we’re introducing Quote Simulation on LI.FI.
Before LI.FI proposes a route, the underlying transaction is simulated against the current onchain state. And instead of simply finding the route with the best projected outcome, LI.FI now checks whether that route can execute before proposing it. As a result, routes that are expected to fail are filtered out before they reach the partner or user, and since the simulations run in parallel and within a fixed time budget - there is no increase in quote-response times.
The result is simple:
Better quotes. Fewer failures. More reliable execution.
What this means for enterprise teams
Quote Simulation gives enterprise teams an additional reliability layer across the products they build with LI.FI.
Instead of receiving a route based only on its expected price and output, partners receive a route that has also been tested against current onchain conditions.
This enables teams to:
Reduce failed transactions – routes that revert during simulation are removed before users can attempt to execute them. The feature has already been enabled for a live enterprise partner in production, and onchain transaction failures fell by more than 70%, with no measurable latency introduced by simulation.
Improve swap completion – fewer dead-on-arrival routes mean fewer users encounter an error and abandon their transaction.
Better user experience – Users are less likely to pay gas for transactions that could already be identified as unsuccessful.
Maintain fast quote responses – simulation runs in parallel and has introduced no measurable increase in quote latency.
For users, this means fewer failed transactions, fewer disrupted swap flows, and greater confidence that the route shown by their wallet or application can successfully execute.
For product teams, it means execution validation becomes part of the routing infrastructure rather than another system they have to build and operate themselves.
Built into LI.FI routing
Quote simulation is built directly into LI.FI’s routing infrastructure.
Integration partners do not need to build and maintain their own simulation engine to benefit from the feature. Once enabled for an integration, routes returned through /quote are automatically tested before being surfaced.
Each route includes a simulation status that partners can incorporate into their own product logic.
Partners can use this information to:
Surface routes that have passed pre-execution validation.
Filter or label routes based on their simulation status.
Pass the simulation result into their own transaction-review systems.
Reduce the number of routes rejected by internal pre-flight checks.
Introduce additional execution policies based on their own product requirements.
The simulation result remains a point-in-time validation based on the state of the chain when the quote is generated. Onchain conditions may still change between quoting and execution, but routes that are already known to revert are removed before they reach the user.
Quote simulation is now available for your enterprise team
Quote Simulation is available as a premium smart execution capability for LI.FI’s enterprise partners and is currently being rolled out with select teams.
If you want to improve your user experience and transaction reliability with fewer failed transactions, get in touch with us through your team’s primary communication channel with LI.FI (whether Slack or Telegram), and enable Quote Simulation for your users today.
About LI.FI
LI.FI is the universal liquidity layer trusted by more than 1,000 enterprises to unlock unified market access to digital assets.
LI.FI reduces the complexity of building digital asset products by orchestrating liquidity across permissioned and permissionless venues, powering stablecoin and RWA flows across more than 60 chains through a single integration.
