How Garden Works

Garden combines two mechanisms: an intent-based solver network and atomic swaps via Hashed Timelock Contracts (HTLCs).

When a user wants to bridge BTC to another chain, they express an intent for example: "I want to swap 0.5 BTC for WBTC on Ethereum.", solvers compete to fill that order. The actual settlement happens through HTLCs: cryptographic contracts that ensure either both sides of the swap complete, or both revert. The transaction itself is deterministic in its outcome: either it settles as intended, or not at all.

This means:
