Mayan 2.0 Is Live on LI.FI
TL;DR: Mayan 2.0 and its upgraded Swift v2 architecture are now live across LI.FI's infrastructure. Every wallet, app, and protocol integrated with LI.FI now has access to Mayan 2.0, which promises to deliver sub-second cross-chain swaps, better rates, and more efficient routing - out of the box.
What's New in Mayan 2.0
Mayan 2.0 is a ground-up upgrade to the protocol's cross-chain execution layer, centered around Swift v2 - a redesigned intent-based architecture that changes how cross-chain orders are priced, matched, and settled.
Here's what's different:
Sub-second fulfillment. Swift v2 introduces a two-contract design that separates execution logic between source and destination chains. The result: cross-chain swaps that settle in under a second under normal conditions, up to 5x faster than the previous version.
Price-optimized routing. Mayan's core differentiator has always been its on-chain auction model. Instead of relying on off-chain, centralized quote systems, Mayan runs competitive English auctions on Solana where solvers bid to fulfill each order. Swift v2 refines this further, solvers now compete on price rather than speed, which pushes execution quality up and user costs down. Effective swap costs as low as 0.03% have been reported by users on certain routes.
Greater reliability. The new architecture improves transaction finality and introduces more robust verification checks, reducing the failure rate for cross-chain transactions.
These aren't theoretical improvements. Mayan has facilitated over $16 billion in cumulative cross-chain volume since launch and serves more than 2.3 million unique wallets. The 2.0 upgrade is designed to handle more volume, faster, at better rates.
What This Means for LI.FI Partners
Here's the part that matters most for builders: you don't have to do anything.
Mayan is already integrated into LI.FI across three execution paths, Swift (intent-based, fastest), MCTP (Circle CCTP-powered, ideal for stablecoins and large transfers), and WH Swap (Wormhole liquidity layer). The 2.0 upgrade rolls through LI.FI's infrastructure automatically, which means every app and wallet using LI.FI's API, SDK, or Widget gets access to these improvements out of the box.
For your users, this translates to:
Faster cross-chain swaps: sub-second settlement on routes where Mayan wins the quote
Better rates: the refined auction mechanism drives tighter execution, especially on Solana ↔ EVM and increasingly on EVM ↔ EVM routes
Same integration, zero lift: no code changes, no re-deployment, no new contracts
This is one of the key advantages of building on an aggregation protocol like LI.FI. When underlying protocols upgrade, the benefits flow through to every partner automatically. You focus on your product, the infrastructure gets better underneath you.
Why Mayan Matters in LI.FI's Stack
LI.FI aggregates and orchestrates across 20+ bridges, DEX aggregators, and intent systems to find the optimal route for every transaction. In that competitive landscape, Mayan has consistently earned its share of order flow by offering competitive pricing and reliable execution, at fast speedsWith 2.0, that advantage compounds. Faster settlement means more orders per unit of time. Better architecture means solvers can operate more efficiently. And tighter execution means more routes where Mayan wins the quote in LI.FI's routing engine.
For the broader ecosystem, this is how infrastructure is supposed to evolve - each protocol improving independently, with the benefits compounding upward through the stack.
The Bigger Picture
Cross-chain infrastructure has come a long way from the early days of bridges that took minutes (or hours) and charged heavy fees. We're now in an era where sub-second swaps at near-zero cost are not only possible but increasingly the baseline expectation.
Mayan 2.0 pushes that baseline forward. And because it's live across LI.FI, that improvement reaches users everywhere - in wallets, in DeFi protocols, in trading apps, across every chain we support.
If you're building on LI.FI, your users are already benefiting. If you're not yet — now's a good time to start.
